goldfish
A downloadable game for Windows
[ABOUT]
Lost and swallowed by darkness, fumble your way through an unfamiliar place in search of a way out.
Goldfish is a short, proof-of-concept demo that seeks to simulate the childhood fear of navigating back to your room through the darkness once you've switched the last of the lights off.
- Run your hands along walls and feel the ground as you step to remember the path you've taken
- Rely on your sense of object permanence by touching things around you to remember their location
- Your memory of the surroundings will fade over time, but it is never safe to rush around in the dark
- Listen to the sounds of the space around you and pick out landmarks to help find your way
- Just because something was there moments ago doesn't mean it's still there, and just because there was nothing there before doesn't mean there isn't now...
HEADPHONES STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

[DEVELOPER NOTES]
Goldfish is the result of a one-week self-imposed game jam as a means to create a playable build reflective of a core concept in order to gather feedback. While this built is short, taking only 10-15 minutes to complete, and is lacking some of the features and ideas I had hoped to add before the weeks end, it serves as a groundwork for expansion and is a good reflection of the core concepts I'm wanting to explore.
